Couples Therapy

therapy couch, decor, and certifications inside the office

Does it feel like you're speaking different languages lately — or like you've quietly stopped trying?

Maybe one of you is holding everything together while the other pulls away. Maybe you keep having the same argument, and neither of you wins, or you've stopped having it at all, because what's the point? Maybe something happened, like a breach of trust, a hard season, the weight of becoming parents, and you're not sure if you can find your way back to each other. Or maybe nothing dramatic happened at all, and that's almost more confusing. You just... drifted.

Couples therapy isn't just for relationships in crisis. Some people come in wanting to stop a pattern before it gets worse. Some come in after years of distance. Some come in because they love each other and want to keep it that way. And some come to repair, heal, and uncouple.

Conflict itself isn't the problem. It's actually healthy and normal, and in the right context, it can bring you closer. What tends to cause real damage is how conflict happens - the shutdown, the spiral, the things said (or never said). That's what we work on, and whether your goal is to stay together, coparent, or uncouple, I will support you every step of the way.

In couples sessions, I'm not here to take sides or figure out who's "right".  I'm here to help you both feel seen and heard, and to start building a different way of talking to each other. We'll slow things down, look at the patterns underneath the arguments, and work toward something that actually feels better for both of you.

I'm trained in Gottman Method (Level Two) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), two of the most research-backed approaches to couples work. What that means, practically, is that we'll look at what's really driving the disconnection, and I'll provide you with tools to foster understanding and connection.

Whether you're partnered, married, navigating a separation, or figuring out coparenting, all are welcome here.
